Energy Weatherization Program

Jack 1 Foundation Incorporated

Hurricane Ike Weatherization Program

The Hurricane Ike Weatherization Program enables low-income families affected by Hurricane Ike to permanently
reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient in the aftermath of the storm. Over the
last few months, the Jack 1 Foundation Hurricane Ike Weatherization Program has provided weatherization services
to low-income families. The foundation is now assisting families and individuals that have experienced hardships
with their energy savings after the Hurricane.

The Jack 1 Foundation weatherization program will assist the following:

Our target customers will be those Hard-to-Reach customers who were impacted by Hurricane Ike with a total
household income of less than 125% of current federal poverty guidelines. Other target populations include:
1) Apartment complexes subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that provide housing
for households at or below 80% of household medium income, such as Section 8 and Public Housing Authorities.

Our Expertise:
  • We will provide high quality energy efficient measures to home owners, using diagnostic testing, physical
    installations and inspections

  • J1F/EETS is an energy efficiency testing service whose owners hold certificates of completion from a reputable
energy institute. We have worked as project sponsors in Entergy’ 2006, 2007and 2008 Hard to Reach programs, completing
    over 50 successful installations.

  • J1F/EETS will provide measures to those individuals who experienced home disaster with their attic insulation and CFL
installations along with other weatherization specific repairs as necessary, (minor sheet rock repairs, window sealing,
appliance replacement, etc.) Our clients are those who are not receiving any other assistance including FEMA or insurance
    claims.

Weatherization has an important story to tell. Weatherization Works! Every day, Weatherization helps low-income families
that were affected by the Hurricane Ike, so they conserve energy, save money, and improve their living conditions.

Weatherization measures even save lives. Combined savings for energy and non-energy benefits in 2006 show weatherization
returns at $2.69 for every $1 invested. Weatherization is the nations "best kept secret." Well, it's time to let that
secret out!
